- Will -- An instrument by which a person makes a disposition of his real and personal property, to be performed or take effect after his death.
- Trust -- A legal entity created by a grantor for the benefit of the designated beneficiaries under the laws of the state and the valid trust instrument.
- Durable Power of Attorney -- An instrument in writing whereby one person, as principal, appoints another as his agent and confers authority to perform certain specified acts or kinds of acts on behalf of principal.
- Healthcare Directive -- A legal document written in which one directs whether extraordinary medical effort when suffering from a terminal condition are undertaken on their behalf.
- Probate -- The legal process wherein the estate of a decedent is administered. Generally, the probate process involves collecting a decedent?s assets, liquidating liabilities, paying necessary taxes, and distributing property to heirs.
